Formed in 1988 by Keith Littler as Ten Pin Alley, the initial focus of the company was audio post-production concentrating primarily on Children’s television. Following a series of high profile projects including Casper the Friendly Ghost, Barney, Magic Roundabout and Watership Down the company created a small production subsidiary to produce animation series in its own right. The Little Entertainment Group was born.

The debut series, a 2D animation called “Billy" for ITV, won the Golden Pulcinella award for best new character and was followed in 1999 by Merlin the Magical Puppy also for ITV. This stop-frame series was entirely created, designed, animated and post-produced in-house. This success led to the production of Little Red Tractor, a series that was developed into 3 commissions from the BBC totaling 75 episodes.

As part of the ongoing vertical integration of the Group, a Rights Management company was launched in 2006 to represent both its own internal brands and third party properties. The first of these was Roman Mysteries, a 5 X 1 hour family drama for the BBC based upon the successful novels by Caroline Lawrence. At the time this commission was the largest of its kind from CBBC Drama and involved a crew of 130 shooting entirely on location. In early 2007 the Series was recommissioned.

Ten Pin Alley has established itself as one of the UK’s pre-eminent Audio Post Houses for Children’s and Family programming and in 2006 passed the impressive milestone of working on its 100th series. January 2008 saw Ten Pin Alley rebranded as Little Entertainment Post as part of the vertical integration of the Group’s services. In addition City financiers Sloane Robinson Private Equity invested in the Group and have provided capital for the company to become one of the most dynamic and fastest growing companies in its sector. This growth has attracted some top UK talent with Martin Haines, a partner in top media law firm Davenport Lyons, joining the company as Commercial Director.

The company is exclusively focused on producing and exploiting high-end Children’s and Family entertainment and we are passionately committed to becoming the leading Production and Rights management operation within the genre.
